The Community Alcohol and Drug Coalition will meet on Monday, Feb. 22 at 7pm at PYW.

The Circle of Home and Family group will meet on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6:30pm at Carolyn Davis’ house for a basket making class (note new time and place for this meeting only).

School vacation starts on Monday, Feb. 22 – the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Pittsfield Youth Workshop have planned many activities for Winterfest. Some events are on Monday, Feb. 22 – Candy Bar Bingo (1-2:30pm) at the Community Center; on Wed, Feb. 24 a Senior Luncheon at noon and sledding and bonfire (6:30-8pm) at the PMHS hill; on Thurs., Feb. 25 Make Your Own Craft (1-2:30pm) at the Community Center and a free PYW Dance from 7-9:30pm at the PMHS Gym; on Fri., Feb. 26 – Snow Shoeing (10-11am) at the Sargent Town Forest and Squam Lake Science Center presents: “NH Wildlife” from 6-7pm at the Community Center and on Sat., Feb 27 Ice fishing (8-noon) on White’s Pond, Catamount Rd. Have a great winter vacation!

The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce will sponsor “Meet the Candidates Night” on Monday, March 1 from 7-9pm at the PMHS Lecture Hall.

The Economic Development Committee will meet on Wed, Feb. 24 at 5:30pm at the Town Hall.

The youth baseball association sign-ups for baseball and softball will be held on Sat., Feb 27 from 10-2pm and March 3 from 6-8pm at the Community Center. The fee for signing up is $50 per player (all levels). Visit leaguelineup.com/Pittsfield to print and complete the form. For more information, call Penny Taylor at 435-7472.

The Supervisors of the Checklist will be in session on Sat., Feb. 27 from 11-11:30am at the town hall to make any necessary changes and to register new voters.

All Pittsfield residents are invited to visit the PMHS Student Showcase on Wed, March 3 from 4-7pm. Observe students at work, view projects on display, meet faculty and staff and hear comments on the school redesign by Superintendent John Freeman at 6pm in the Lecture Hall.

The Pittsfield Youth Baseball Association (PYBA) would like to invite everyone to join them every Friday night for BINGO (sponsored by PYBA) located at the Concord Bingo Center, 60 Sheep Davis Road, Concord. Doors open at 4:30pm and games start at 6:30pm. Food is available and free parking. For more information, call Penny Taylor at 435-7472 or Brenda Pabon at 435-6532.

During Feb. vacation, The Salty Dog Pottery will offer 90 minute clay workshops for children. Call now to sign up. For more information, contact Teresa Taylor at 435-6014.

The Pittsfield Players Kids Theatre Workshop will present “The Pirates of Penzance, Jr.” on Feb. 18, 19 and 20 at 7:30pm at the Scenic Theatre. The play is produced “almost” entirely by kids. Ticket prices are $10 for 18 years and older and $8 for under 18. Tickets can be purchased at www.pittsfieldplayers.com (ticketleap link) or reserve them by calling 435-8852.

Volunteers are needed to fill the positions of Emergency Management Director and Deputy Emergency Management Director. Interested volunteers should complete a volunteer application form which can be downloaded from the town website www.pittsfield-nh.com or can be acquired at the Selectman’s office at the town hall. Completed forms should be submitted for review to the Selectman’s offices by Feb. 18.

The PHS All Class Reunion Committee will meet Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 6:15pm at Pittsfield Youth Workshop. For more information, call Andi Riel at 435-6346.

A Free H1N1 Flu clinic for children, families and community members will be offered by the Capital Area Public Health Clinic on Wed., Feb. 17 from 4-7pm in the PES cafeteria.

Congratulations to Michael Adams, Paige Corliss, Kara Gingras, Allison Laflamme and Irene Vogt on being awarded the Scholar Athlete Award. This award is presented to graduating seniors who maintain a B+ average or better and letter in at least 2 Varsity sports.
