Wi-Fi for
Pittsfield’s Downtown – Wireless internet is up and running
in most areas of Pittsfield’s Downtown provided by Single
Digits, Inc. Check it out!
The Suncook
Valley Regional Development Corporation will be able to
receive, expend and administer funds, make loans, buy,
lease, take in exchange real estate, and participate in its
development or other disposition, in the furtherance of
economic activities in Pittsfield. The corporation members
met recently to elect officers. They are: James Hetu,
President; Helen Schiff, Vice President; Linda Small,
Treasurer; Ed Vien, Secretary; Stephen Heavener, Capital
Region Development Corp., Recording Secretary.
Tax Relief For
Qualifying Downtown Properties – In 2007 voters adopted RSA
79E which allows temporary tax relief for a property owner
in the downtown to revitalize their property. The Board of
Selectman, upon application, may delay the increase in taxes
that could result from renovations for up to 5 years.
Information
packets will be made available shortly to businesses within
the downtown area.
WiFi Announcement
Sign – An announcement board noting WiFi availability along
Main Street in the downtown was developed and installed on
Rt. 28.
Tax Credit
Program for Research and Development – The EDC will be
making an information packet available shortly on the New
Hampshire Research and Development Tax Credit enacted during
the 2007 legislative session. Business owners that have
expenditures made during the fiscal year for qualified
manufacturing research & development may apply. The
application deadline for the first fiscal year of the credit
is June 30, 2008.
