When Should the Library be Open?
The library has decided that because
of the increased cost of heating oil, and the goal to keep the town
portion of the 2009 property taxes the same as 2008, beginning in
October the library will be open five days a week instead of six.
According to the US Department of Energy the library will be able to
reduce the amount of oil needed to heat the building if we are open
for five days a week instead of six. By making this change we’ll be
saving money, conserve energy, and create a small pollution
reduction all at the same time.
The library will continue to be open
on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. During August we are
conducting a survey to decide if the library should also be open on
Monday or Friday, and if the library closes on Friday what morning
of the week we should hold story hour. You can help the library
decide the new open hours by filling out our survey.
